Workshop 02_ A personal sight

detecting mood elements by Gonzalo Cid

Location: Craftsmen's Market, Plaza Francia

About the workshop: The objective of the Workshop is to develop the personal gaze of each participant so that they can exploit the potential of the site to be drawn / painted.

When we go out to draw what we do is tell a story, leave a moment of a certain place on a piece of paper. It is here where the personal gaze of each one makes its entrance to capture the details and elements of their interest that allow them to tell that story. Personally, I consider that the practice of Urban Sketching is not only to accurately reflect what is seen, it is also necessary to be able to capture all those things that a photograph cannot provide us with. The climate of a place is given not only by Architecture, but by the dynamics of the people, flora and fauna that inhabit it, this dynamic is only perceptible and understandable when one develops a critical look on the place that is observed to be able capture its essence.

In this workshop we are going to work with all those factors that influence the development of that gaze and the detection of elements that express the mood of the place that allow us to tell our story about that place.
